AN INDEPENDENT NETWORK, IN DEVELOPMENT

Digital money.
Open to verification.

Security and Transparency are Panopt's core values. We are building toward private, CPU-mineable digital cash on an independently verifiable blockchain. Follow the engineering. Inspect the current testnet. Verify the rules.

This running lab uses transparent transactions and experimental SHA-256 consensus. Private transactions and RandomX are planned for the replacement protocol. Test coins have no intended monetary value.

Outstanding supply does not measure market circulation. The website node does not mine; other nodes may. Hash-rate estimation is unavailable in this prototype.

02 / LIVE MINING

Time since last block—Two-minute target; blocks arrive randomly

The v4 development testnet aims for a two-minute average through experimental proof-of-work adjustment. Large changes in total mining power can make blocks much faster or slower for extended periods; this is not a timing guarantee. Its provisional schedule issues 25,000 PNPT per 262,800 blocks across all miners combined, about 0.09513 PNPT per block. The fixed 25-million-PNPT issuance cap includes the separate one-million founder allocation. More miners compete for the same block rewards; they do not multiply the network's scheduled issuance. This remains a disposable testnet, not a final mainnet policy.

The website is a validating node but does not mine. Each miner has one hashing worker; lowering its CPU duty cycle reduces hash attempts and the chance of finding a block, not the reward for a valid block. The private miner controls are on a separate, authenticated LAN port and are never exposed here.

04 / THE DIRECTION

Clear principles.
Visible progress.

A real currency needs more than a name. Panopt starts with explicit rules, measurable tests and an honest account of what works today.

01

Private by design

The selected direction is a Monero-derived protocol with established confidential transactions and viewing keys. Privacy is not implemented in this lab.

Planned foundation
02

Participation through mining

Proof of Work creates subsequent coins. RandomX is the intended CPU-oriented algorithm; current SHA-256 mining is for engineering tests.

Protocol replacement ahead
03

Accountable issuance

Exactly one million PNPT at genesis is publicly allocated to the founder. Mining issuance and burned fees are tracked separately, without a founder minting privilege.

Verified in the lab

05 / MONETARY POLICY

The rules deserve
the same scrutiny.

The initial ceiling is 25 million PNPT, including the one-million founder allocation. It is a ceiling, not a launch supply. The v4 lab uses a fixed 25-million-PNPT lifetime issuance cap and a height-based mining subsidy. Final mainnet policy remains under review.

The final design requires a two-year founder lock followed by a three-year linear release. This is not enforced on the current testnet. There is no additional 100,000 PNPT node or contributor reserve.

A permanent finite issuance cap and a perpetual positive mining reward cannot both hold. Declining rewards, a tail subsidy and a fixed-cap alternative remain under review.

06 / PARTICIPATE CAREFULLY

Start with the fundamentals.

Run and verify a node

Development source is currently private. Authorized collaborators can build panoptlab and use the repository's lab deployment guide. Nodes must pin the same public genesis manifest and validate their own chain.

Management RPC is authenticated and separate from peer traffic. Public node distribution and peer discovery are not released.

Create, send and recover

The reference CLI supports disposable lab wallet creation and signed transfers. Its wallet JSON contains an unencrypted private seed: keep it private, back it up offline, and never use it for valuable funds. The public explorer never needs a wallet seed.

Encrypted recovery-phrase wallets, hardware-wallet integration and mobile applications are pending. No public wallet download is available yet.

Mine Panopt

The lab supports solo mining through authenticated management RPC. Mining rewards go to a specified public wallet address; no private key is required by the miner. The current algorithm is SHA-256, not RandomX.

The miner panel has its own private HTTPS management address. The public website address and its HTTP backend port do not open that panel.

Windows/Linux miner releases and pool compatibility will be published after validation. Hardware performance affects mining results; equal rewards per computer cannot be guaranteed.

What can this explorer reveal?

This legacy chain is transparent: transaction amounts, sender public keys and recipients are visible. A future confidential protocol will expose only protocol-public fields. Optional viewing keys must remain under wallet-owner control.

Downloads and releases

There are no approved public wallet, miner or node releases. The current engineering baseline is the v4 development lab, with authenticated interfaces and automated testing. Public releases will include source, build instructions and verified checksums.

07 / DEVELOPMENT ROADMAP

Earn confidence, step by step.

  1. Lab tested

    Inspect the foundation

Source audit, founder-genesis checks, 150-year policy models and two-node transfer/restart tests.

  2. In progress

    Build the engineering network

Isolated containers, authenticated management, independent validation and a live read-only explorer.

  3. In progress

    Replace the legacy protocol

The private core fork rejected upstream handshakes on all three profiles, rejected a wrong-ID reply from a controlled outbound peer, and synced one mined version-16 block between isolated nodes. Monetary rules, wallets, adversarial networking and independent review remain open.

  4. Before mainnet

    Review, harden, release

Adversarial tests, wallet integrations, reproducible builds and independent expert security review.
